My studio is a calm place. I feel no fear as I work, there are no voices to listen to. I have moving pictures in my head, an ancient way of thinking. The images I paint arrive together from these pictures. It is important I trust the process and allow the work to emerge. Philip Guston once said... "We prepare a long time for a few moments of innocence".
